We have put together some of the most asked questions we have received from our guests in the past which we hope will cover any queries you may have. If there is anything else you would like to know please do not hesitate to ask.
The villas are in Dalyan on the South West (Mediterranean) Coast of Turkey between Marmaris and Fethiye.
Spend your holiday in Dalyan and you will undoubtedly want to return as a huge number of people do just that. With a charismatic mix of breathtaking scenery, nature, fantastic weather, great hospitality as well as restaurants, charming bars and places to shop, you will experience an unforgettable holiday. Dalyan is a lovely small riverside town, a conservation area surrounded by cotton fields, orange and lemon groves and pine clad mountains. Development is limited in Dalyan which means no high rise buildings, Greenpeace plays an active role and local people still make a living fishing and farming. Dalyan has a beautiful beach, one of the last few remaining nesting sites of the loggerhead turtle and it has been voted as one of the safest beaches for children. There is an ancient city just the other side of the river as well as spectacular 4th Century rock tombs carved into the cliff face. There are also famous local mud baths and thermal springs which have been popular since ancient times. Dalyan is laid back, low key and lovely ; a unique place that is a hit with all ages. If you’re one of those people who vows ‘I never go to the same place twice’ you’ll be in for a surprise.
What is there to do in and around Dalyan? Though Dalyan’s pace of life is relaxed, there is a surprising amount for one to occupy oneself and you will end up finding that 2 weeks is simply not enough. This charming unspoilt small town has much to offer all who visit – something for everyone all in one place.
You can take a boat down river out to sea or around the lake. Swim, snorkel or go crab or line fishing. Go to the beach for the day, visit the ancient city, the mud baths or the hot springs. Have a picnic or barbecue. Learn how to dive. Get up early to see the lake turtles. Appreciate Dalyan’s stunning scenery from a microlite. to a jeep safari.
You can relax in a riverside restaurant, watch the boats go by and marvel at the illuminated rock tombs. Have fun bargaining in the market or in one of the carpet, jewellery or leather shops. Experience a Turkish bath.
There are many other places to visit and Dalyan is an excellent base for other local attractions and the many famous historical sites in the area.
You can visit Ephesus or the unique calcium deposits at Pamukkale.
The list is endless. You certainly won’t be bored or disappointed.

The price includes accommodation as agreed. This is inclusive of gas, water, electricity and cleaning. We provide a mobile phone with free £5 worth of credit for you to use to reconfirm your flights, call us for any reason, call a taxi, order a pizza, whatever. We provide you with a welcome pack- coffee, tea, milk, water, soft drinks, fruit juice, biscuits, crisps fruit etc. We provide you with an information pack on local places of interest, how to get to the beach etc and recommendations for restaurants, tours and shops as well as answers to frequently asked questions about the accommodation and local customs, issues etc. We are also happy to include a free orientation boat trip to show you the main sights in Dalyan during the first couple of days of your holiday.
What day does the booking start and end? Most of the flights arriving from the UK and the rest of Europe are charter flights which are often at unsociable hours and mostly on weekdays. Consequently we are extremely flexible when it comes to arrival and departure days and times so as to meet your needs.
What if our holiday dates cross over two price bands? You will pay the rate per night that is applicable to the date that you stay.
For example if you were to stay for two nights in May and five nights in June the price would be (350/7*2) + (400/7*5) or £100 + £285 = £385
Each villa is identical and has three double bedrooms upstairs. The master bedroom has an en-suite bathroom and its own balcony. There is an open plan living room, dining area and kitchen downstairs and an outside terrace with a barbecue. There is another bathroom downstairs which has a shower.
How are the bedrooms laid out? The main bedroom has a double bed, bedside cabinets, a dressing table and a wardrobe. The second bedroom has a double bed, bedside cabinets and wardrobe and the third bedroom has two single beds, a bedside cabinet and a wardrobe. We have tried to be as accommodating as possible in sleeping arrangements and one of the villas we have furnished with two single beds in the second bedroom making a total of four single beds.
Sheets and towels are supplied but please bring your own beach towels. Sheets are changed once a week and towels twice a week but the cleaner is excellent and if your sheets need changing, she’ll change them.
How often is the villa cleaned? The cleaner does a major clean after the first week of your holiday but she also cleans and tidies up when she comes to change your towels. It’s not unusual for her to do the odd bit of washing up or bring your washing in!
Is the villa in a quiet or lively area? The villa is situated in a quiet area but the nearest restaurant is only 5 minutes’ walk away.
Is the villa suitable for families? Each of the villas sleeps 6 and we can also provide a full sized cot if you wish.
There is a separate children’s splash pool and we also provide a paddling pool. There are socket covers on all the sockets that are lower down and we have installed stair gates in one of the villas. The terraces have gates which can be bolted to keep children on the terrace.
The pool area can be slippery and we recommend that children wear the type of waterproof beach shoes that look like plimsolls at all times in and around the pool. We can also provide a steam steriliser, baby bottle warmer, high chair and many other baby products strictly on a first come first served basis.
Myself, Helena Metin and my husband Dündar, own the villas and we only live 4 minutes’ walk away. I was born and brought up in the UK (my father’s Polish hence the surname) and I moved here 10 years ago and married Dündar who was born in Dalyan.
I know both the area and the language very well and if there’s anything I don’t know my husband helps out.
We are here for you to talk to about the accommodation, local information, activity suggestions, places to visit or any other questions that you may wish to ask. We provide you with a mobile phone with £5 free credit and we are only a phone call away so you don’t have to use your UK mobiles which would be quite expensive.
Is there anything else for children apart from the pool? There is a swing in the garden and some garden toys from the Early Learning Centre eg. giant snakes and ladders, space hopper etc.
Although eating out is very reasonable you may also wish to eat at home occasionally. There is a large fridge freezer, an oven, a grill, a gas hob, a kettle, a toaster, a cool bag, a washing machine and all the standard utensils that you would expect to find in your own kitchen. There are enough plates, cups, glasses etc for 8 people.
Where can we keep our valuables? Each villa has its own safety deposit box inside the villa.
There is one long beach in Dalyan and it is accessible from either end each as beautiful as the other.
Iztuzu Beach by road is 10kms away Turtle Beach by boat is 2 kms away.
By road to Iztuzu beach: A minibus leaves regularly from in front of the post office (7 minutes’ walk from the villa) The journey takes 20 minutes along a beautiful mountain road with fabulous views of the beach, maze of bulrushes and lake from above. The road is lined with oleander bushes and in May and June the road turns into a beautiful sea of pink flowers.
By boat to Turtle Beach: You leave from the harbour (9 minutes’ walk from the villa) and take a boat along the river passing the spectacular 4th Century Rock Tombs. Relax for 35 minutes and take in the scenery as the boat finds its way out of the maze of bulrushes and on to Turtle Beach.
There are small cafes at either end of the beach which sell cold and hot drinks, toasted sandwiches and typical Turkish pancakes called Gözleme. There are sunbeds and umbrellas available to rent.
The nearest airport is Dalaman (DLM) which is only a 30 minute drive from Dalyan and from the villa.
We can only suggest that you try your local travel agent, look on Teletext, or search for flights on the Internet eg. www.cheapflights.co.uk or www.flightline.co.uk or look on the home pages of the various tour companies eg. First Choice.
We also recommend Cyprus Turkish Airlines who run direct flights to Dalaman from Stansted, Manchester and Gatwick at much more sociable hours and quite reasonable prices. The telephone number is 020 7241 5523 or check their website www.kthy.com
You can fly to Dalaman from the majority of UK airports with most flights to Dalaman leaving on weekdays especially Mondays, Thursdays and Fridays.
After you have arranged your flights to Dalaman please give us as many details as you can about your flight when you complete the Booking Form. We will arrange your transfers to and from Dalaman airport accordingly. You will be met at Dalaman when you arrive and will be taken back to Dalaman at the end of your holiday.
What is the price of a transfer? The price per person one way is £5 with a minimum of £20 per transfer. Please ask for rates for large groups.
How do I know a villa is available for my preferred dates? Many of the charter flights that land at Dalaman are night flights which take of from their destination on the evening of let’s say 22nd and land after midnight which makes the date the 23rd.
We prefer not to keep an availability calendar because experience shows that night flights etc make tracking this extremely complicated for us and confusing for customers. Please e mail us or telephone. See below.
